āļø 2 conservative operatives get probation for robocalls to discourage Black Detroit voters in 2020
Two right-wing activists were sentenced to probation for orchestrating a robocall scheme targeting Black voters in Detroit with false claims about mail-in voting. Prosecutors said the calls were designed to suppress turnout by spreading misinformation about voting security and potential legal consequences. Civil-rights groups argue the lenient sentence fails to reflect the seriousness of coordinated voter suppression efforts. ā The Seattle Times
š More than 220 judges have now rejected the Trump adminās mass detention policy
The Trump administrationās attempt to systematically detain nearly all immigrants facing deportation has triggered a fierce ā and growing ā backlash from courts across the country. āAt least 225 judges have ruled in more than 700 cases that the administrationās new policy, which also deprives people of an opportunity to seek release from an immigration court, is a likely violation of law and the right to due process.... Judges have assailed the administration for defying the law and suggested the unprecedented interpretation of the law could subject millions of people to detention, even if they have lived in the country for decades without incident.ā Overwhelming the courts with frivolous cases is a classic power move used by fascist authoritarians like Trump and the complicit Republicans in Congress. ā Politico
š¼ David Sacksā financial conflicts mean he can no longer credibly serve as White House AI advisor; he should resign
Public Citizen argues that a senior White House AI advisor, David Sach, holds significant financial interests in tech companies that stand to benefit from federal AI policy, creating untenable conflicts of interest. āThe Times investigation found that Sacks ā despite claims that he had sold most of his A.I. assets ā has retained at least 449 stakes in companies with ties to A.I. that could be aided directly or indirectly by his policies.ā Advocates say his ongoing role undermines public trust and risks shaping policy to benefit private ventures rather than the public good. They call for immediate resignation and stronger ethics rules for tech-policy officials. ā CommonDreams
ā Starbucks to pay NYC workers $35 million in labor law settlement
New York City officials finalized a settlement with Starbucks after accusing it of violating labor laws by targeting workers. āAbout $35 million will go to more than 15,000 New York City baristas who complained that the company failed to provide stable schedules and indiscriminately cut hours, per the settlement.ā Labor advocates say the deal is a major step toward holding corporations accountable for illegal anti-worker behavior. ā Axios
š¢Entire Chain of Command Could Be Held Liable for Killing Boat Strike Survivors, Sources Say
Leaked materials reveal evidence that U.S. personnel were involved in a series of boat strikes in Venezuela that killed civilians, despite official claims the incidents targeted militants. Internal reports suggest the attacks were authorized under murky rules of engagement approved by senior officials. Human-rights experts say the actions may constitute war crimes and demand independent investigation. ā The Intercept

An Indiana Republican senator abruptly withdrew support for a redistricting plan afterPresident Trump publicly used the derogatory ār-word.ā The episode highlights the pressure lawmakers face to align with the presidentās political demands, even in state-level legislative matters. Project 2025 is Harming Americans
Project 2025 is an extreme, authoritarian agenda that threatens American democracy, freedoms, and civil rights. Backed by conservative mega-donors like the Koch family and led by the Heritage Foundation and over 100 aligned groups, it lays out a 900+ page plan to centralize power under the presidency and permanently dismantle the federal government as we know it.
The plan would replace 50,000 nonpartisan civil servants with loyalists, grant the president near-total control over agencies like the DOJ, FBI, and Federal Reserve, and criminalize protest through militarized policing. It seeks to ban abortion and contraception, end LGBTQIA+ protections, dismantle public education, eliminate Medicaid and Medicare, and defund labor, environmental, and disability protections. Promoting Christian nationalism, it would erase the separation of church and state, suppress voting rights, and silence dissentāpaving the way for a permanent far-right dictatorship.
Summary of Harms:
Dismantles democracy and installs authoritarian rule
Criminalizes dissent and minority communities
Ends reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights
Defunds public healthcare and education
Destroys labor, environmental, and disability protections
Increases tax burdens on working people
Erases civil rights and church/state separation
Suppresses voting and opposition voices
We must organize, resist, and protect our communities from this dangerous assault.

How do we fight Fascism?
Hope
Hope is a powerful weapon against fascism, serving as both a shield and a rallying cry in the face of fear and oppression. While fascism thrives on division, despair, and apathy, hope inspires unity, action, and resilience. Hope empowers us to envision a society built on equality, justice, and freedom, motivating us to take meaningful steps to protect these values.
Respect
Respect is a formidable weapon against fascism, countering its foundation of hatred and dehumanization with dignity and inclusivity. By leading with respect, we create a society where collaboration and compassion overpower fear and division, rendering fascism powerless in the face of unity.
Unity
Unity is one of the most powerful weapons against fascism, as it dismantles the divide-and-conquer tactics that authoritarian regimes rely on to maintain power.
