š« Hegseth reportedly plans to cut support to US scouts group for being āgenderlessā
The United States Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, has launched a campaign targeting the Scouts. āScouting America, formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America, has said it is āsurprised and disappointedā by a report that the US defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, could sever all military ties to the organization for being āgenderlessā and failing to ācultivate masculine valuesā. In response, Scouting America responded Its āAmerican values have not changedā¦to prepare young people for life by instilling in them the values of character, leadership, citizenship, and serviceā. Human rights and civil-rights groups warn this interference may lead to a broader exclusion of vulnerable kids in community programs. ā The Guardian
š Johnson told White House that Republicans arenāt interested in extending ACA subsidies, sources say
House Speaker Mike Johnson informed the White House that most House Republicans are unwilling to support renewing the enhanced Affordable Care Act premium subsidies, a move that could leave millions facing sharp premium increases at year-end. The rejection comes even as the administration considered a two-year extension, signaling deep GOP resistance to the plan. Without congressional support, the subsidies ā which help lower- and middle-income families afford health insurance ā are likely to expire, threatening insurance access and affordability for tens of millions. ā CBS News
š§± ICEās detainee population reaches 66,000, a new record high, statistics show
ICEās custody numbers have surged to 66,000 ā the largest detainee population ever recorded ā under the intensified enforcement campaign of the current administration. This figure represents a nearly 70% increase since January 2025, when detention levels hovered around 39,000. Roughly half of those detained now have no criminal charges or convictions, revealing that civil-immigration violations, not criminal behavior, account for most of the surge. The expansion accompanies a massive increase in detention capacity, including new facilities and beds nationwide. ā CBS News
š Trump Vowed His Mass Deportation Efforts Would Target āthe Worst of the Worst.ā Hereās What the Data Shows
Contrary to promises that the crackdown would prioritize serious criminals, over 70% of people in ICE detention as of September 2025 had no criminal convictions ā many were held solely for civil-immigration violations. Among those with records, most fell short of violent offenses, with only a small fraction indicted for serious crimes. The data challenge the administrationās narrative, suggesting mass detentions target immigrants broadly rather than dangerous offenders. Experts warn the shift poses enormous risks to civil liberties and fuels stigmatization of immigrant communities. ā TIME
āļø Appeals court panel upholds nearly $1M sanctions against Trump, Alina Habba over Hillary Clinton lawsuit
A federal court ruled against former president Trump in a high-stakes lawsuit filed by Hillary Clintonās campaign, imposing significant financial penalties for defamation and election-related claims deemed baseless. The decision sends a strong signal about accountability for spreading misinformation and threatens to set a precedent deterring future political lawsuits based on false allegations. Legal scholars say the ruling could reshape how courts treat politically charged defamation cases going forward. ā The Hill
āļø The number of non-criminal detainees arrested by ICE has surged by 2,000% under Trump. These charts show whoās in detention.
New government figures reveal a dramatic surge: nearly half of all individuals currently detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ā about 30,986 people ā have no criminal charges or convictions, held solely for civil immigration violations. This marks a historic shift under the current administrationās enforcement ramp-up. The trend challenges official narratives that prioritize arrests of violent or dangerous criminals and is a warning to all that an authoritarian state is building. ā CBS News
Together, we can Resist and Stop Project 2025
When leaders escape accountability, it signals that powerānot justiceārules, eroding trust, fueling corruption, and opening the door to authoritarianism. Billionaire-backed justices and elites arenāt serving the peopleātheyāre scheming to suppress our voices, strip away our rights, and rule over us. But progress and power to the people is more than an idea; itās a movement. By standing up, speaking out, and demanding dignity, opportunity, and justice for all, we can build an America that truly lives up to its promise.

Project 2025 is Harming Americans
Project 2025 is an extreme, authoritarian agenda that threatens American democracy, freedoms, and civil rights. Backed by conservative mega-donors like the Koch family and led by the Heritage Foundation and over 100 aligned groups, it lays out a 900+ page plan to centralize power under the presidency and permanently dismantle the federal government as we know it.
The plan would replace 50,000 nonpartisan civil servants with loyalists, grant the president near-total control over agencies like the DOJ, FBI, and Federal Reserve, and criminalize protest through militarized policing. It seeks to ban abortion and contraception, end LGBTQIA+ protections, dismantle public education, eliminate Medicaid and Medicare, and defund labor, environmental, and disability protections. Promoting Christian nationalism, it would erase the separation of church and state, suppress voting rights, and silence dissentāpaving the way for a permanent far-right dictatorship.
Summary of Harms:
Dismantles democracy and installs authoritarian rule
Criminalizes dissent and minority communities
Ends reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights
Defunds public healthcare and education
Destroys labor, environmental, and disability protections
Increases tax burdens on working people
Erases civil rights and church/state separation
Suppresses voting and opposition voices
We must organize, resist, and protect our communities from this dangerous assault.

How do we fight Fascism?
Hope
Hope is a powerful weapon against fascism, serving as both a shield and a rallying cry in the face of fear and oppression. While fascism thrives on division, despair, and apathy, hope inspires unity, action, and resilience. Hope empowers us to envision a society built on equality, justice, and freedom, motivating us to take meaningful steps to protect these values.
Respect
Respect is a formidable weapon against fascism, countering its foundation of hatred and dehumanization with dignity and inclusivity. By leading with respect, we create a society where collaboration and compassion overpower fear and division, rendering fascism powerless in the face of unity.
Unity
Unity is one of the most powerful weapons against fascism, as it dismantles the divide-and-conquer tactics that authoritarian regimes rely on to maintain power.
