📈 Report shows how GOP health-care scheme would further enrich insurance giants
A new analysis finds that a Republican-backed healthcare proposal would shift costs onto patients while boosting profits for large insurance companies, reducing coverage quality and increasing premiums. Under the plans, insurers would have more power to deny coverage, limit services, and raise prices—undermining the original protections offered under prior reforms. Advocates warn the legislation would deepen inequality in healthcare access and prioritize corporate profit over public health. — Truthout
⚠️ Obamacare tax credits look likely to expire as Trump rules out an extension
Federal estimates show that if Affordable Care Act premium subsidies expire, insurance premiums could soar by up to 60 percent for some consumers — jeopardizing coverage for many who rely on affordable plans. The decision to let subsidies lapse comes amid rising inflation and economic uncertainty, risking a public-health and affordability crisis. Advocacy groups are pressing lawmakers to act before the expiration date, warning that millions could lose coverage overnight. — NBC News
📉 Trump tells Congress to not waste time on Obamacare subsidies
In a direct message to lawmakers, the president urged Congress to abandon efforts to extend Affordable Care Act premium subsidies, calling such efforts a “waste of time.” He framed the subsidies as part of what he views as excessive federal spending, signaling a firm opposition to any relief tied to past healthcare legislation. The Trump administration alongside Republicans in Congress have failed to offer an alternative plan. The stance has renewed fears that millions will face steep premium hikes or lose coverage entirely at year’s end. — Bloomberg
🔬 The CDC’s troubling new second in command, briefly explained.
A Center for Disease Control scientist Ralph Abraham pushed by a Louisiana official has downplayed COVID-19 warnings, a startling memo shows. Internal documents show a Louisiana official pressured the top scientist at the health agency to minimize public warnings about COVID-19 risks, allegedly to align messaging with state political goals. The pressure included requests to soften language on vaccine urgency and downplay ongoing outbreaks — raising alarms among public-health advocates about political interference in scientific guidance. The revelations fuel concerns that partisan politics are undermining trust and effectiveness in pandemic response. — Vox
📞 ‘Traitor’: US representatives call for Trump envoy Witkoff to be fired after leaked Kremlin call
A leaked call involving Trump envoy Steve Witkoff — reportedly discussing Russia-Ukraine policy — has triggered bipartisan outrage, with lawmakers demanding his dismissal and labeling him a traitor. The controversy underscores deep concern that U.S. foreign policy is being shaped through back-channel dealings rather than transparent, democratic processes. Many fear the incident shows growing influence of foreign interests over domestic political decisions. — The Guardian
🛑 Patty Murray: Trump is trying to illegally dismantle Education Department
Senator Patty Murray and education advocates are sounding the alarm on a sweeping effort by the administration to gut the U.S. Department of Education. The plan reportedly transfers core federal education functions — including student aid, civil-rights oversight, and special education support — to unrelated agencies like Labor and Health/Human Services, risking major disruption in support for vulnerable students. Critics say the move undercuts decades of federal protections, threatens funding stability, and abandons students who rely on federal grants and oversight. — The Seattle Times
Together, we can Resist and Stop Project 2025
When leaders escape accountability, it signals that power—not justice—rules, eroding trust, fueling corruption, and opening the door to authoritarianism. Billionaire-backed justices and elites aren’t serving the people—they’re scheming to suppress our voices, strip away our rights, and rule over us. But progress and power to the people is more than an idea; it’s a movement. By standing up, speaking out, and demanding dignity, opportunity, and justice for all, we can build an America that truly lives up to its promise.

Project 2025 is Harming Americans
Project 2025 is an extreme, authoritarian agenda that threatens American democracy, freedoms, and civil rights. Backed by conservative mega-donors like the Koch family and led by the Heritage Foundation and over 100 aligned groups, it lays out a 900+ page plan to centralize power under the presidency and permanently dismantle the federal government as we know it.
The plan would replace 50,000 nonpartisan civil servants with loyalists, grant the president near-total control over agencies like the DOJ, FBI, and Federal Reserve, and criminalize protest through militarized policing. It seeks to ban abortion and contraception, end LGBTQIA+ protections, dismantle public education, eliminate Medicaid and Medicare, and defund labor, environmental, and disability protections. Promoting Christian nationalism, it would erase the separation of church and state, suppress voting rights, and silence dissent—paving the way for a permanent far-right dictatorship.
Summary of Harms:
Dismantles democracy and installs authoritarian rule
Criminalizes dissent and minority communities
Ends reproductive and LGBTQ+ rights
Defunds public healthcare and education
Destroys labor, environmental, and disability protections
Increases tax burdens on working people
Erases civil rights and church/state separation
Suppresses voting and opposition voices
We must organize, resist, and protect our communities from this dangerous assault.

How do we fight Fascism?
Hope
Hope is a powerful weapon against fascism, serving as both a shield and a rallying cry in the face of fear and oppression. While fascism thrives on division, despair, and apathy, hope inspires unity, action, and resilience. Hope empowers us to envision a society built on equality, justice, and freedom, motivating us to take meaningful steps to protect these values.
Respect
Respect is a formidable weapon against fascism, countering its foundation of hatred and dehumanization with dignity and inclusivity. By leading with respect, we create a society where collaboration and compassion overpower fear and division, rendering fascism powerless in the face of unity.
Unity
Unity is one of the most powerful weapons against fascism, as it dismantles the divide-and-conquer tactics that authoritarian regimes rely on to maintain power.
🗽The strength of a nation is not its ability to fight wars, but rather by its ability to prevent them. - Gene Roddenberry
Together, we can protect and empower those we love, champion our rights, freedoms, and democracy, hold our leaders accountable to the people’s will, and inspire voters to make a meaningful difference.
