Protect the powerful. Arrest the people warning against war. Ask the public to trust a war narrative that large numbers of voters reject. Keep moving forward even when fresh reporting raises doubts about whether the president is trusted in a military crisis. That is the authoritarian pattern this newsletter tracks under Project 2025: more impunity, more obedience, less democracy.
