Freedom Over Fascism: Resist Project 2025 for April 12, 2026
Resist Project 2025 with people-powered news for April 12, 2026 and action exposing detention, surveillance, and extremist control threatening freedom and democracy.
They’re Counting on You to Look Away from Project 2025. Don’t.
The pattern is getting impossible to ignore. This week, ICE reportedly overpaid for a Utah warehouse tied to detention expansion, admitted it is using spyware that can intercept encrypted messages, and Republicans kept making room for more enforcement while families are told there is never enough for their needs.
This is Resist Project 2025 in real time: more control, less freedom, and public money fueling fear instead of dignity. The playbook depends on people missing the connection. We cannot afford to look away.
What Happened: This Week's Project 2025 Stories
ICE Paid Millions Extra for Utah Warehouse
ICE bought a Utah warehouse for about $145 million even though it was assessed at roughly $97 million, and the site was reportedly meant for major detention expansion. That matters because public money should not be a blank check for mass detention. When the price jumps and transparency drops, ordinary people are right to ask who benefits. The Atlantic
Heritage’s Plan for Women Raises Alarm
The Heritage Foundation has rolled out a new blueprint for American women that critics say pushes women toward greater dependence on men by promoting marriage and motherhood as policy goals. That matters because plans about family can become plans about control. When ideology starts defining a woman’s role, freedom and autonomy are what’s really on the line. MS NOW
ICE Admits Using Spyware
ICE has acknowledged using spyware tools that can intercept encrypted messages, according to a letter from the agency’s acting director. That should alarm everyone, because surveillance powers rarely stay limited to one target or one community. When the government brings invasive spyware inside the United States, privacy and civil liberties are on the line. NPR
Republicans Are Choosing ICE Over Families
A new report says Republicans’ push to fund ICE is squeezing the rest of their agenda. That matters because every budget choice reveals a priority. When leaders make room for detention and enforcement but crowd out everything else, families are left asking why fear gets funded faster than real solutions. The Hill
💔 Why It Matters and Who Is Harmed by Project 2025
Think about the family watching public money get poured into an overpriced ICE warehouse while their community is told there is never enough for housing, healthcare, or help with rising costs. Think about the woman hearing powerful extremists promote marriage and motherhood not as personal choices, but as policy goals meant to define her role and limit her freedom. Think about the immigrant family, journalist, organizer, or everyday person forced to wonder whether government spyware is reaching deeper into private messages and private life. Think about the communities being told that more money for ICE matters more than their actual needs.
These are not isolated headlines. They are the human cost of a system Project 2025 is helping build — one where public money fuels detention, surveillance expands, and ideology is used to control people’s lives. The people most harmed are women, immigrants, working families, and everyone who loses freedom, privacy, dignity, and democratic accountability while those in power keep demanding more control.

🔍 The Bigger Picture: This Is What Authoritarianism Looks Like
Overpay for detention space. Normalize spyware. Repackage control over women’s lives as “family policy.” Keep pouring money into ICE while families are told to do more with less. This is the Project 2025 playbook — not in theory, but in real time. Public money moves with too little transparency. Surveillance powers push deeper into private life. Extremists try to define women’s roles for them. And budget priorities keep rewarding fear, punishment, and control over care, freedom, and dignity.
Authoritarianism does not always arrive in one dramatic moment. It grows when detention becomes business, privacy becomes optional, and ideology is used to shrink people’s autonomy. That is the bigger picture connecting these stories. They are all about concentrating power, weakening accountability, and forcing ordinary people to live under rules written by extremists. People Power United exists because informed, organized communities are still the greatest force we have to expose this playbook, resist it, and stop it.
📢 What Comes Next: Keep Being Loud
🏢 DETENTION DEALS — Demand a full investigation into ICE’s Utah warehouse purchase and any plan to turn warehouses into mass detention sites. Public money should not be a blank check for secretive detention expansion, and communities deserve transparency before more dollars are poured into this machinery.
🔐 SPYWARE AND PRIVACY — Tell Congress to hold public hearings on ICE’s use of spyware that can target encrypted communications. No agency should be allowed to deploy invasive surveillance tools without strict oversight, clear legal limits, and real protections for civil liberties.
👩 WOMEN’S FREEDOM — Demand your elected officials reject policy agendas that try to push women into narrow, male-led roles by tying public policy to marriage and motherhood. Women deserve freedom, autonomy, and the power to shape their own lives without ideological control from the state.
💸 BUDGET PRIORITIES — Contact Congress and demand they stop treating more ICE and Border Patrol funding as the top priority while workers, families, and essential services are left to absorb the damage. Our tax dollars should go toward dignity, care, and real community needs, not more detention, surveillance, and cruelty.
Together, we can defend our rights, freedoms, the rule of law, and democracy, hold leaders accountable to the people’s will, and inspire voters to make a meaningful difference.
People Power United is independent, people-powered news and grassroot movement actions dedicated to defending our rights, freedoms, the rule of law, and democracy. This is our moment to rise, resist, and reclaim our democracy. Millions of Americans and people who call America home are already rising up in the streets, at the ballot box, and in their communities.

Thank you, thank you for this work. NO ONE ELSE is talking about Project 2025, of which the horror of trumps actions and lies are only one part. This plan is already 53% implemented according to those tracking. People can't fight effectively fight when the problem isn't clearly defined! I am thinking that avoiding naming Project 2025 is a deliberate policy of the press.
Thank you for covering all the fronts where our democracy is threatened or fascism is taking place. The GOP takeover seems so large and extensive in every aspect of government that it's hard to follow the news on every front. One front that needs more coverage is women's reproductive health, so cruelly cut away by the supreme court.
